David Sanchez Announces Candidacy for Wisconsin Assembly District 13
Wauwatosa, Wis. — Attorney and former Wisconsin Supreme Court law clerk David Sanchez today announced his candidacy for the Wisconsin State Assembly in District 13, pledging to work to lower everyday living costs, secure necessary resources for public schools and bring innovative ideas to Madison to meet today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow’s.
Before practicing law, Sanchez served as a Public Health Lead at Google, partnering with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to use technology and data to tackle public health challenges including teen vaping and opioid use. He said that experience demonstrated how an evidence-based and innovative approach to core government functions can save both lives and taxpayer dollars.
After graduating from Harvard Law School, Sanchez returned home to clerk for Justice Rebecca Dallet on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He now practices law at Foley & Lardner LLP in Milwaukee, working on renewable energy and infrastructure projects that support Wisconsin’s economic future.
Sanchez said he is running to continue the work of outgoing Rep. Robyn Vining and fight to address the needs of local communities — particularly when it comes to school funding. As state support has lagged, property owners have been forced to shoulder increasing costs.
“Our property taxes went up nearly 40% last year,” Sanchez said. “That is not sustainable for families, seniors or for anyone trying to plan their future.”
Sanchez and his wife, Elynn, are raising their two children in Wauwatosa. He said his campaign will focus on practical solutions that keep communities strong and make Wisconsin affordable for families and seniors alike.
