Detwiler Named Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American Honorable Mention
Marquette University men’s lacrosse short-stick defensive midfielder and lone team captain Peter Detwiler continues to collect preseason recognition, as he was named a Preseason Nike Lacrosse NCAA Division I Preseason All-American Honorable Mention by Inside Lacrosse, the publication announced Wednesday afternoon.
The honor adds to an already impressive slate of preseason accolades for Detwiler, who was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team earlier this month.
A native of Devon, Pennsylvania, Detwiler is a USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention selection, a two-time team captain, and the first Golden Eagle to receive preseason Inside Lacrosse recognition since prior to the 2024 season, when current assistant coach Mason Woodward earned second-team honors. Detwiler joins Woodward, Ryan McNamara (2017), Liam Byrnes (2016), and B.J. Grill (2016) as the only Marquette players to be named to preseason Inside Lacrosse All-America teams.
The Golden Eagles open the 2026 regular season against Michigan on National Marquette Day, Saturday, Feb. 7. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT.
