Lakefront Brewery Unveils Tropical Rabbit, a Sun-Soaked Tropical Ipa Helping Escape the Wisconsin Winter, With a Free Beer Party to Celebrate Its Arrival
Lakefront Brewery is embracing a balmy mindset with an exciting new year-round release this week of Tropical Rabbit, a citrusy, pineapple, fruit-forward Tropical IPA.
MILWAUKEE (JANUARY 27th, 2026) –This sun-glassed rabbit will be hopping onto shelves and tap handles across the state, the perfect complement to Lakefront’s IPA series. Currently, Lakefront has its original Lakefront IPA, which is a West Coast-style IPA, Hazy Rabbit, an East Coast-style IPA, and Royal Rabbit, an Imperial IPA. Now it’s Tropical Rabbit’s turn, taking Lakefront Down Under to use distinctive tropical fruit-forward hops from Australia which give this IPA a big citrus and pineapple taste.
“There are some exciting new tropical flavored hops on the market from Australia, and we wanted to offer consumers a more modern hop flavor in our “Rabbit” series of beers,” said John Huber, Sales Manager of Lakefront Brewery. “Our brewers did a wonderful job extracting the tropical fruit flavors from the Eclipse, Galaxy, and Vic Secret hops to make this a very tasty IPA.”
This unfiltered brew is also light in color but has added body from oats that will give it some notable creaminess in the mouthfeel, a full-flavored beer coming in at 6.8% ABV and 29 IBUs.
The brewery is celebrating its release with a party at their Beer Hall on Thursday, February 5th. At 5pm, Lakefront will be tapping a free half barrel of Tropical Rabbit, available until it kicks. The vibes will be warm and tropical as they host a Hula Hoop contest at 6pm and a Limbo competition at 6:30pm. Lakefront recommends matching the vibe with your best beachy wardrobe to be entered into their Hawaiian Shirt Contest at 7pm. Winners of each contest will receive a case of Tropical Rabbit IPA. Every attendee will also be handed a free Tropical Rabbit pint glass to take home.
