Milwaukee County Parks Announces Weather-Related Closures Due to Extreme Cold

Milwaukee, WI – Due to dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills forecasted for the coming days, Milwaukee County Parks is announcing temporary closures and operational adjustments to ensure public safety.

As a result of the extreme cold:

Parks Outdoor Activities – CLOSED Friday & Saturday

All outdoor Parks programming and activities will be closed on Friday, January 23 and Saturday, January 24, including:

  • Slice of Ice ice skating at Red Arrow Park
  • Outdoor recreation programs
  • Other outdoor park amenities and activities

Parks Indoor Facilities – OPEN

Indoor Milwaukee County Parks facilities and programs will remain open during this period, operating under normal business hours unless otherwise noted.

Public Safety Reminder

Milwaukee County Parks urges residents to use caution when outdoors, limit exposure to extreme cold, dress in layers, and follow guidance from local public health and emergency management officials. Updated information will be shared through Milwaukee County Parks’ website and social media channels.
