Lisbon Avenue Project on strong trajectory
Alderman Lamont Westmoreland is pleased that the Lisbon Avenue reconstruction project remains largely on schedule and is now entering the second half of the project, with major work expected to begin as soon as the weather breaks in early 2026. The project has continued to move forward steadily, supported by the outstanding patience and engagement of residents and businesses along the corridor.
Recent progress includes the full reopening of westbound traffic from 86th Street to 100th Street on November 26, near-completion of permeable paver installation in the eastbound lanes expected to reopen by mid-December, weather permitting, and the start of tree removal for phases 3 and 4 beginning next week. Additional winter sewer work scheduled for February and March will require a temporary two-week closure of eastbound traffic from 76th Street to Burleigh. Tree planting, remaining sod installation, and final pavement markings from 86th to 100th will take place in spring 2026. The project will conclude in late fall of 2026.

“The Lisbon Avenue rebuild is going great with only minimal delays, and this community deserves the strong, modern corridor that is taking shape,” Alderman Westmoreland said.
