GZ PrintPak expands U.S. footprint in Mount Pleasant

Czech Republic-based company invests in Wisconsin to meet growing industrial demand

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI., DEC 4, 2025 – GZ PrintPak, a fast-growing international player in printing and packaging, has chosen Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, to expand its United States footprint to manufacture luxury paper bags and expand its presence in the United States. The company will invest $7.1 million into their 69,000 square-foot manufacturing space and production line, creating 40 jobs.

As a part of GZ Media, the world’s largest vinyl record producer based in the Czech Republic, GZ PrintPak is the only U.S. manufacturer to have developed a fully automated system for producing fully recyclable luxury paper bags. In the next phase of the project, the company plans to expand its offering to include the production of collapsible and standard rigid boxes, along with co-packing services for products. In addition, GZ PrintPak is actively exploring the acquisition of a printing company to further diversify and enhance its product portfolio.

The new facility, which began operations earlier in 2025, is the company’s first facility in Wisconsin.

“We’re really proud to be here, because Wisconsin offers an ideal mix of workforce availability, infrastructure, and location advantages — enabling us to better serve our customers across North America,” said Peter Levenec, GZ Media’s Chairman of the Board and Chief Commercial Officer. “We look forward to building strong partnerships within the Wisconsin community and becoming a reliable, responsible employer in the region.”

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is supporting the project by authorizing up to $300,000 in state income tax credits over the next three years. The actual amount of tax credits GZ PrintPak will receive is contingent on the number of jobs created and the capital invested in the project.

“Wisconsin is known as a global leader in the paper industry, and GZ PrintPak is the kind of innovative international paper manufacturing company that belongs in Wisconsin,” said Sam Rikkers, Deputy Secretary and Chief Operating Officer of WEDC, the state’s lead economic development organization. “We welcome their investment in our state and look forward to their continued growth.”

By leveraging tariff-free manufacturing and competitive pricing, GZ PrintPak aims to offer an attractive alternative to overseas suppliers, ensure faster turnaround times for customers, and prioritize product quality and customer service.

The Racine County Economic Development Corporation (RCEDC) and the Village of Mount Pleasant provided a warm welcome to the company.

“Working with GZ PrintPak on their expansion into Mount Pleasant has been an exciting opportunity to bring a truly innovative manufacturer to Racine County. Their $7.1 million investment, commitment to sustainability, and creation of 40 new jobs will have a lasting impact on our community. We’re glad to have played a role in getting them here and look forward to seeing their impact in the years ahead,” said Laura Million, Deputy Director of RCEDC.

“We’re excited to welcome GZ PrintPak to Mount Pleasant and proud to be the home of their first Wisconsin facility. This project represents not only a significant investment in our community, but also the creation of high-quality jobs and innovative, sustainable manufacturing right here in Racine County. We look forward to working closely with GZ PrintPak as they grow and become an integral part of our local business community,” said Dave DeGroot, Mount Pleasant Village President.

Milwaukee 7 (M7), the regional economic development organization, also worked to attract GZ PrintPak to Wisconsin.

“We’re thrilled to welcome GZ PrintPak to southeastern Wisconsin,” said Rebecca Gries, Executive Director of M7. “Their investment strengthens our region’s advanced manufacturing sector and reflects the confidence global companies have in our talent and resources. This is a win for innovation and for the communities that power our economy.”
