Mark Krommenacker of Little Chute High School Named Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week

The Green Bay Packers have announced that Mark Krommenacker of Little Chute High School in Little Chute, Wis., has been named the Packers High School Coach of the Week.

In his first season as head coach of Little Chute, Krommenacker has guided the Mustangs to an impressive 8-1 record and a conference championship in the highly competitive North Eastern Conference. This week, the Mustangs will look to extend their successful season as the No. 2 seed in the WIAA Division 4 playoffs, beginning their hopeful run to state. Krommenacker’s emphasis on leadership and intentionality has fostered a renewed culture within the program – one that has been instrumental to the team’s success and will continue to drive them as they enter postseason play.

“I believe everything starts with leadership – coaches and players,” Krommenacker said. “Leaders create the culture of the team, and they will help take us as far as we can go. One thing that we’ve brought in that I’m passionate about is being intentional in everything we do. Anything we talk about, quotes we put on a shirt, practice, time on the field or in the film room, we are always going to be intentional with our time and message. We’re not here to waste people’s time. We’re not going to let the little things slide, and we’re going to set a really high standard.”

Coach Krommenacker’s focus on leadership is also evident in the way the Mustangs are involved within the Little Chute community.

“Something that we are passionate about – and that will continue to grow – is anybody that wants to be a captain has to do a servant leadership project, something that benefits the community,” Krommenacker said. “It has set the tone for underclassmen seeing that if I’m going to be a leader of this team, then I need to serve others and help better our community.”

Krommenacker grew up in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and played quarterback at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School under Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Famer Tony Biolo. After graduating in 2006, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, earning his degree in 2011. Krommenacker began his coaching career while still in college, working with 8th grade and junior varsity teams in Wisconsin Rapids. Following graduation, he moved to Rib Lake, Wis., where he served as the JV coach at Rib Lake/Prentice before taking over as head coach for three seasons. After his tenure at Rib Lake/Prentice, Krommenacker became the head coach at Appleton East High School, a position he held for seven years before taking on the head coaching role at Little Chute this season.

Krommenacker is honored to win the Coach of the Week award but is quick to recognize others.

“I’m just proud of everybody involved with the program, both coaches and kids,” Krommenacker said. “Whether it was the conference championship or the success they’ve seen on the field, it just really comes down to the hard work they’ve put in and committed to all the time that’s put into this. I’m sure at times it seems like it’s a lot for the kids and coaches, but awards like this help to see that people recognize that hard work. I also need to mention my wife because I definitely could not do this without her, and I’m very lucky to have her support.”

Krommenacker and his staff oversee a program of 63 players with 45 of them suiting up for varsity games. His assistant staff includes Cory Diedrick, Joe Krueger, Ken Diedrick, Nate Hietpas, Will Vanden Huevel, Grant Parsons, Brady Lonigro, Mike Schepp, Sam Schepp, Ted Evers, Trevor Van Straten, Jeremy Reider and Hunter Van Straten. In addition to coaching, Krommenacker is a physical education, health and strength teacher. Krommenacker and his wife, Brianne, have a daughter, Hadley, and a son, Leo.

The Packers will recognize one outstanding high school coach as their ‘Coach of the Week’ winner during the 2025 high school football season. Winners are awarded several items and privileges, including a $1,000 donation to the school’s football program from the Green Bay Packers and the NFL Foundation, as well as recognition of the award on packers.com, boundwisconsin.com and wifca.org.
