DNR To Host Wild Rose Fish Hatchery Open House Oct. 25

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invites the public to an open house event at the Wild Rose Fish Hatchery Education Center in Wild Rose on Saturday, Oct. 25 beginning at 8 a.m.
Other activities will include fish-printing on tote bags, a fly tying workshop, fly casting demonstrations and making Kool-Aid clay fish. You can also take a self-guided tour of the original 1908 hatchery or join a guided tour of the modern operation.
The Wild Rose Fish Hatchery is a cool and cold-water hatchery that raises steelhead, brown trout, coho and Chinook salmon, Great Lakes spotted musky, walleye and lake sturgeon.
