Rep. Taylor Highlights Commitment to Domestic Violence Prevention Through Purple Alert Bill, Awareness Resolution, and Upcoming Event
MILWAUKEE, WI – Today, Representative Sequanna Taylor (D-Milwaukee) reaffirmed her dedication to supporting survivors of domestic violence and protecting vulnerable communities through key legislative and community action. This week, Rep. Taylor advanced two critical measures: the Purple Alert bill, which establishes a statewide alert system to help locate missing or endangered vulnerable adults that maybe in peril, and a resolution officially recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Representative Taylor (D-Milwaukee) issued the following statement:
To further strengthen this commitment, Rep. Taylor will host Capitol Call to Action: Legislative Advocacy Against Domestic Violence, an event designed to bring together advocacy groups, domestic violence organizations, and stakeholders from across the state to raise awareness and advocate for solutions. This event will take place on Thursday, October 30th, 2025 at 10AM.
“As a mother, grandmother, and legislator, I know how urgent this issue is. This event is not just about awareness — it’s about action. Together, we can end domestic violence and make sure every survivor feels seen, heard, and supported. As an overcomer and survivor of domestic violence, I want to share my story in hopes of bringing awareness and saving lives. I don’t take for granted surviving what others didn’t, and that’s why this work is so important”
