WI Tech Month 2025: The Future is Built Here
Celebrating Five Years of Innovation, Community, and Growth
Milwaukee, Wis. – September 30, 2025 – Wisconsin Tech Month (WTM) returns this October for its fifth year, uniting innovators, entrepreneurs, educators, and community leaders under the theme “The Future is Built Here.” What began as a grassroots movement in Milwaukee has grown into a statewide and now regional phenomenon, cementing Wisconsin’s role as a leader in inclusive tech innovation.
The celebration begins with the WI Tech Month Kickoff on October 1st, where Tina Chang CEO of Syslogic, Lena DeLaet of Summerfest Tech will share their insights on Milwaukee’s Developing Tech Scene. Common Council President José G. Pérez will share his perspectives on the newly announced Milwaukee Innovation District and its role in shaping the city’s future as a tech-forward hub.
This milestone year also coincides with a major development for Milwaukee: the creation of the city’s first Innovation District. Recently introduced by Common Council President José G. Pérez (File #250660), the resolution designates a portion of the Walker’s Point neighborhood and surrounding areas as a hub where creativity meets strategy — driving sustainable growth through entrepreneurship, research, design, technology development, and collaboration between the public and private sectors.
Over the last five years, WI Tech Month has proven that innovation is not only possible in Wisconsin, it thrives here when community, corporations, and creatives come together,” said Nadiyah Johnson, Founder of WI Tech Month and the Milky Way Tech Hub. “This year’s theme, The Future is Built Here, reflects our collective power to shape the next chapter of tech, grounded in equity and opportunity for all.
