In Response to Charlie Kirk’s Death, WI-03 Rep. Derrick Van Orden Tweets Over 1,000 Times, Threatens to Strip Federal Funding From Health Clinics

MADISON, Wis. — From the day Charlie Kirk was horrifically murdered to Tuesday of this week, WI-03 Representative Derrick Van Orden has posted over 1,000 tweets related to the incident. In his tweets, Van Orden has threatened to withdraw federal funding from Mayo Clinica health care system that has 28 facilities in WI-03. Van Orden already put Mayo’s Osseo clinic, which is in his district, at risk of closing due to Van Orden’s work passing the Big Ugly Bill.

“Derrick Van Orden is comfortable threatening to take health care away from his constituents from behind a keyboard, but still won’t meet with them in person,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Philip Shulman. “DC Derrick has become obsessed with social media and has completely lost touch with his district as he splits his time between his keyboard and Washington — leaving no time to meet with his actual constituents at home.”
