Milwaukee, (Sept. 23, 2025) – Alverno College was recognized for its strong commitment to teaching in rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report. The college was also noted for its innovation and the social mobility of its students in the publication’s 2026 America’s Best Colleges guidebook.

Alverno was ranked third among Midwest Regional Universities for its commitment to undergraduate teaching. This marks the sixteenth consecutive year Alverno was recognized in this category, the only college in the state included in this category for its entire 16-year history. The ranking highlights schools where “the faculty have a remarkably strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.”

“These rankings shine a light on the remarkable commitment of our faculty to teaching and supporting students,” said Gina Rossetti, PhD, vice president for Academic Affairs. “I am excited to work alongside them to build on these strengths and create even more opportunities for Alverno students to thrive.”

Alverno was ranked the sixth most innovative school among Midwest Regional Universities. Schools in this category are “making the most innovative improvements in terms of curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology or facilities.”

The college was also recognized as a top performer for social mobility, which measures how well schools graduate students who receive Pell grants.

Now in its 41st year, the rankings evaluate more than 1,700 U.S. colleges and universities, using up to 17 factors to measure academic quality and graduate success. The full listing can be found at usnews.com.
