Golden Eagles host Ball State in first game Friday at 7 p.m. CT

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette women’s volleyball team hosts Ball State on Friday, Sept.12 in the first game of a three-game weekend home stand. MU enters the match 3-1 after sweeping Western Kentucky last Friday. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m. CT at the Al McGuire Center.

The Golden Eagles will face James Madison on Saturday and in-state foe Milwaukee on Sunday.

HISTORY x OPPONENTS
MU and Ball State have only met once in program history. The last match up was a 3-0 win in the First Round of the 2022 National Championship.

Marquette and JMU have also met once in program history. The Golden Eagles defeated the Dukes 3-0 on Feb. 12, 2014 at the Al.

MU and Milwaukee will meet for the 22nd time in program history. MU holds the 15-6 advantage and posted its last win over the Panthers on Oct. 22, 2024 sweeping Milwaukee 3-0.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT
Ball State (2-4): Fell 3-0 in its last contest against South Dakota. The Cardinals are led offensively by Carson Tyler with 103 kills on the season (averaging 4.2). On the defensive end, Camryn Wise anchors the squad with 12 total blocks.

James Madison (2-4): The Dukes enter Saturday’s contest following a 3-1 loss to Lehigh on last Sunday. JMU is led by Kennedy Louisell with 122 kills on the season (averaging 5.3). Ayen Nhial leads the team in blocks with 29 total.

Milwaukee (0-6): The Panthers come to the Al with six straight losses after falling 3-0 to No. 6 Wisconsin. Natalie Schmitz leads the Panthers with 55 kills on the season and Josie Noble leads defensively with 17 blocks total.
