By - Sep 4th, 2025 09:26 pm

The Marquette University women’s soccer team (4-3-0, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) wrapped up its three-match road swing with 1-0 loss at Kansas City (4-3-0, 0-0-0 Summit League) on Thursday night in non-conference action.

The 1-0 setback was the first shutout for Marquette, which finished the night with just a pair of shots on goal. Kansas City also had just two attempts on frame, but the difference proved to be its lone shot on goal for the first 85 minutes of the contest.

The Golden Eagles trailed 1-0 at the intermission after a quiet first half offensively that saw the team collect just five total shots, one on goal.  The Roos opened the scoring at the 30:21 mark, recycling a clearance to the far post that was tapped in from four yards out.

UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles host No. 5 Notre Dame at 1 p.m. CT at Valley Fields on Sunday, Sept. 7.

NOTES

  • For the first time this season, Marquette featured the same starting lineup in back-to-back outings
  • No. 5 Notre Dame will be Marquette’s second top-25 opponent (No. 21 Wisconsin) of the season
