Golden Eagles shutout for first time this season
The Marquette University women’s soccer team (4-3-0, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) wrapped up its three-match road swing with 1-0 loss at Kansas City (4-3-0, 0-0-0 Summit League) on Thursday night in non-conference action.
The Golden Eagles trailed 1-0 at the intermission after a quiet first half offensively that saw the team collect just five total shots, one on goal. The Roos opened the scoring at the 30:21 mark, recycling a clearance to the far post that was tapped in from four yards out.
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles host No. 5 Notre Dame at 1 p.m. CT at Valley Fields on Sunday, Sept. 7.
NOTES
- For the first time this season, Marquette featured the same starting lineup in back-to-back outings
- No. 5 Notre Dame will be Marquette’s second top-25 opponent (No. 21 Wisconsin) of the season
