Senator Mark Spreitzer Reacts After Governor Tony Evers Announces He Will Not Seek A Third Term
MADISON – Today, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers announced that he will not be seeking a third term as Governor of the State of Wisconsin. State Senator Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit) released the following statement after the Governor’s announcement:
“Governor Tony Evers has led a life of service – as a teacher, school administrator, State Superintendent, and Governor. Throughout his many years of service, he always put Wisconsin first, and I am sure he will continue to be a leader in our state outside of elected office, just as he has been in office.
“From leading our state through the COVID-19 pandemic to supporting our public schools to fighting for fair representation in legislative maps, Governor Evers will leave a lasting legacy here in our state. I wish Governor Evers all the best in the years ahead, and I look forward to continuing to work with him and his administration for the rest of this legislative session.”NOTE: This press release was submitted to Urban Milwaukee and was not written by an Urban Milwaukee writer.
