LEXINGTON, Kentucky – The Marquette University women’s volleyball team has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT for the 2024-25 academic year, the AVCA announced on Monday.

The Golden Eagles recorded a 3.748 GPA during the fall semester, while the remaining student-athletes and newcomers posted a 3.63 GPA this spring. Natalie RingSamantha Naber and Jadyn Garrison each earned a perfect 4.0 GPAs both semesters, while Yadhira AnchanteElla Holmstrom and Hattie Bray each recorded a 4.0 GPA in at least one term.

“It is very exciting to see that the record-setting, on-court successes during the 2024-25 season have extended to the classroom,” says AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. “The fact that more programs earned the Team Academic Award than ever before is evidence of how committed our coaches are when it comes to helping their players reach their goals as both students and athletes.”

The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale. Marquette has earned the honor 11 times, including in each of the last seven academic years.
