MLAX Falls at Providence, 14-2
The Golden Eagles are at Villanova next Saturday
PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island – The Marquette University men’s lacrosse team fell 14-2 to Providence on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.
Junior goalie Lucas Lawas made 15 saves for the Golden Eagles (6-5, 1-2 BIG EAST), who received goals from seniors Nolan Rappis and Bobby O’Grady.
The Golden Eagles posted 22 turnovers to 10 for PC.
NOTABLE:
- Lawas reached 15 saves for the fourth time in the last five games. He had a career-high 17 in MU”s double overtime loss to then-No. 14 Georgetown on April 5.
- The win is PC’s first since a 12-11 win over Loyola on March 8 to snap a four-game losing streak.
- Marquette leads the all-time series 7-6 but has dropped the last three games and five of the last seven to PC.
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles play April 19 at Villanova before returning to Milwaukee to host Denver on Friday, April 25 for the program’s senior day celebration.
