Gov. Evers Slams President Trump and Trump Administration’s Continued Attacks on Veterans
New report indicates Trump Administration is set to cut 80,000 jobs from Veterans Affairs
MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today slammed new plans by President Donald Trump and the Trump Administration to cut as many as 80,000 employees from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, which comes as President Trump and the Trump Administration have already fired nearly 6,000 veterans—reportedly more than any U.S. president in American history.
Gov. Evers’ statement today comes just hours after releasing an open letter to Congressional Republicans urging them to stand up against President Trump and the Trump Administration’s reckless decisions, efforts to erode constitutional checks and balances, guts to federal programs, and indiscriminate firing of federal workers across the country.
