Rep. Piwowarczyk Responds to Gov. Evers Budget Address

By - Feb 18th, 2025 08:00 pm

“Republicans in Wisconsin believe that families and individuals know how to spend their money better than the government,” said Representative Piwowarczyk. “Governor Evers’ tax-and-spend budget would only grow government and increase taxes, putting future taxpayers on the hook for his liberal priorities.”

Governor Evers’ budget proposal would expand government programs and raise taxes, mirroring policies from other liberal states facing economic strain. Republicans, however, are committed to returning money to taxpayers.

“We will not stand for a budget that expands welfare, raises taxes, or offers new benefits to illegal immigrants,” said Piwowarczyk. “Our focus will be on responsible budgeting, eliminating waste, and ensuring our government serves the needs of all Wisconsinites.”

“As a former police officer, backing law enforcement is non-negotiable for me. I’ve always stood firm in investing to keep our communities safe, so our children and families can thrive without fear. But make no mistake—attacking Second Amendment rights is off the table, and I’ll never stand for it.”

In the coming months, Republicans will engage with Wisconsinites through public hearings and district listening sessions to shape the 2025-2027 budget based on the priorities of the people.

“We are committed to a budget that reflects the values of all Wisconsinites, not just the left-wing base,” said Piwowarczyk.
