Madison, Wis.Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin (PPAWI) is honored to announce its endorsement of Judge Susan Crawford for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. With a distinguished legal career where she has upheld constitutional rights and protected access to reproductive health care, Judge Crawford is the clear choice for protecting the rights of all Wisconsinites.

“Judge Susan Crawford has spent her entire career working to uphold the Constitution,” said Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin President Tanya Atkinson. “Once again, access to essential health care and bodily autonomy hang in the balance. Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin is proud to stand alongside a leader committed to reproductive freedom. Judge Susan Crawford’s values align with the people of Wisconsin, and she is the right choice to be our next State Supreme Court Justice.”

Throughout her career, Judge Susan Crawford has committed to protecting access to reproductive health care, serving as a prosecutor and advocating for women’s health policies. In private practice, Judge Crawford was a part of the litigation team representing Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin and fighting to protect reproductive health care access. As part of this distinguished group of attorneys, Judge Crawford successfully challenged state statutes that created undue burdens on individuals seeking reproductive health services, ensuring the rights of all Wisconsinites are protected. Now, as a Dane County Circuit Judge, she continues her unwavering commitment to justice and constitutional integrity.

In stark contrast, Brad Schimel has made it clear through his actions as Attorney General that he does not support the constitutional protections of bodily autonomy and the right to abortion. His prioritization of defending unconstitutional abortion restrictions poses a significant threat to the access and availability of sexual and reproductive health care in Wisconsin.

PPAWI encourages eligible voters to engage in the electoral process and make their voices heard. Spring elections are February 18 and April 1. Election information, including information about how to register to vote, is available at myvote.wi.gov.
