WBB Drops Road Contest at Villanova Sunday Afternoon

Golden Eagles host St. John’s Wednesday Night

VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania – The Marquette University women’s basketball team fell at Villanova 65-53 on Sunday at Finneran Pavilion.

The Golden Eagles (14-7, 6-4 BIG EAST) were led by Halle Vice, who had a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds. Vice was 9-of-10 from the floor for her best shooting clip of her career.

Skylar Forbes (12 points) and Jaidynn Mason (10 points) joined Vice in double-figures.

Villanova ended the second quarter on an 18-6 run the last eight minutes to take a 12-point lead into halftime. Marquette got it within six points three times in the second half.

Villanova (12-10, 6-4 BIG EAST) was led by Jasmine Bascoe, who had 17 points and six assists.

NOTABLES:

  • Olivia Porter had a career-high 11 rebounds.
  • Olivia Porter’s fifth game this season with 6-or-more assists.
  • Third 20-point game of the season for Halle Vice.
  • Halle Vice’s ninth game this season with 8-or-more rebounds.
  • First game without a made three since Feb. 7, 2024 when MU won 52-38 over Georgetown.
