North Shore Bank Hosts Sixteenth Annual Race for the Hungry at El Rey Food Mart
Supermarket racers collect nearly $1,000 in food to benefit Milwaukee Christian Center
BROOKFIELD, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced its sixteenth annual Race for the Hungry event at El Rey Food Mart, 1320 W. Burnham St., collected nearly $1,000 in food to be donated to Milwaukee Christian Center. Race for the Hungry is an annual community event that challenges participants in a head-to-head competition to support local food pantries. Representatives from the Milwaukee Christian Center teamed up to race through the supermarket aisles to fill the pantry’s wish list. The winner received a $100 gift card and the runner-up received a $50 card. North Shore Bank donated the food collected during the race to the pantry, feeding local families in need.
“Our relationship with Milwaukee Christian Center, El Rey Food Mart and the surrounding communities is crucial to us, which is why we’re proud to be in our sixteenth year of Race for the Hungry,” said Alfredo Martin, AVP and community engagement manager for North Shore Bank. “We encourage everyone to get involved by donating non-perishables or monetary support to Milwaukee Christian Center directly.”
