“For the Milwaukee Magazine team and me, it is an honor to spotlight and celebrate these amazing people,” says Carole Nicksin, editor and publisher.

“Milwaukee is a better place, thanks to the important work these individuals are doing.”

This year’s honorees are:

Damian Buchman – Founder of The Ability Center

Jim Gaillard – Founder of WHIRE and Vice President of Ezekiel HOPE

Mary Joy Hickey – Executive Director at Girls Rock MKE

The honorees will be featured in the February print issue of Milwaukee Magazine and will be honored at this year’s Unity Awards event on Feb. 26 at Pilot Project Brewing (1128 N. 9th St.).

Judge Derek Mosley will interview each of the honorees as part of the presentation.

“Hearing the honorees talk about their work makes this event memorable, as well as uplifting and inspiring, for those who attend,” says Nicksin.
