Orion Motors Hosting “After Dark” Winter Solstice Happy Hour on Dec. 21, the Shortest Day of 2024
Husband-and-wife entrepreneurs Brian and Heidi Dondlinger are hosting their first-ever After Dark Happy Hour on Dec. 21, 2024, the shortest and often darkest day of the year. The free event is from 4-7 p.m. in their Orion Motors shop, 6047 N. Flint Rd. on Milwaukee’s Northwest side.
“The winter solstice is the perfect time for Milwaukee adventure fans to dream of summer and warmer days,” said Brian Dondlinger. “We just expanded our shop and look forward to showing it off to all who can join us on Dec. 21.”
“We like to call our shop a ‘dream factory,’” said Heidi Dondlinger. “So, on the 21st we want to inspire folks to dream about their next big adventure. We also want to show them how the Orion 365 can take the stress out of travel prep and hitting the road. We can even reserve build slots if individuals want to gift someone or themselves a new camper van this holiday season,” Heidi added with a smile.
The stars of the Orion 365 are two lift-away double beds, one fitted at the rear of the van and the second in the front, above the cockpit and rear seats. This design allows the beds to retract during travel and drop down (with the push of a button) from the ceiling at night. Thanks to this innovative, patent-pending design, the Orion 365 comfortably sleeps five but also provides enough space to haul adventure gear: from kayaks and mountain bikes to motorcycles and snowmobiles.
About Orion Motors
The Dondlingers met as Mechanical Engineering majors at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. For years, they dreamt of starting a business together. With more than 45 years of combined experience in mechanical engineering and product development, they founded Orion Motors in 2021. After upfitting a Ford Transit van into a camping van for their family during the pandemic, the Dondlingers founded their dream factory – empowering vehicle owners to feed their passions and to never have to compromise when it comes to the driving, sleeping, relaxing or cargo modes of their vehicles.
