Special election called to fill vacant seat in 3rd Aldermanic District

Yesterday (Monday, November 18), pursuant to Section 17.23(1b), Wis. Stats., Common Council President José G. Pérez ordered a special election to be held on April 1, 2025, to fill the vacant aldermanic seat in District 3. Should a primary election be necessary to fill the seat, it would be held on February 18, 2025.

The circulation of nomination papers can begin no earlier than December 1, 2024, and the deadline for submitting nomination papers to the City of Milwaukee Election Commission is no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. A successor for the seat shall be elected for the remainder of the unexpired term that will expire on April 17, 2028.
