M-Cubed Kicks off Direct Admit to Increase College Access for MPS Students

(MILWAUKEE) — On Tuesday, M-Cubed partners will officially open this year’s Direct Admit application, a program that streamlines access to Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee for MPS students, along with participating Universities of Wisconsin.

The goal is to eliminate barriers that often prevent students from applying to and being accepted in institutions of higher learning. This program will be especially helpful to first-generation college students.

The application takes only about five minutes and does not require a transcript, essay, or letters of recommendation. The application is free for MPS high school juniors.

Dr. Anthony Cruz (MATC), Dr. Mark Mone (UWM), and Eduardo Galvan (MPS) will be attending.

New this year: Students can also apply to 10 participating Universities of Wisconsin through this single application via Direct Admit Wisconsin.

M-Cubed is a partnership among Milwaukee’s three largest public education institutions—Milwaukee Public Schools, Milwaukee Area Technical College, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. This collaboration is dedicated to transforming the future of Milwaukee through education.
