Deansville And Badfish Creek Wildlife Areas Partially Closed For Wetland Restoration Projects

By - Oct 31st, 2024 09:03 am

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced that portions of the Deansville and Badfish Creek wildlife areas will be closed this fall for wetland restoration projects. Pheasant stocking and hunting at these locations will be restricted to the areas that remain open.

The wetland restoration projects will help improve local wetland/waterfowl habitat and restore natural hydrology to these properties. The Deansville restoration project covers around 250 acres of land and includes ditch plugs, agricultural tile breaks and wetland scrapes. The Badfish Creek restoration project covers around 200 acres and includes similar constructions.

The Deansville partial closure has just begun, and the Badfish Creek partial closure will occur later in the year, likely December.

Please see posted signage on the property for more information or contact the property manager for the latest updates.
