Mecan River Fishery Area Chicago Road Access Point Closed For Maintenance Sept. 4-13

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced that the Chicago Road access point in the Mecan River Fishery Area in Marquette County will be temporarily closed from Wednesday, Sept. 4 through Friday, Sept. 13.

Anglers and other property users should seek alternate access to the fishery area by utilizing other parking areas on the property during this period.

This closure will allow for needed improvements to the parking lot, and the area will not be accessible during construction. This upgrade is part of a larger effort to update the parking areas along the Mecan River. Additional access points and parking lots will undergo maintenance this fall. However, they will remain accessible except for when maintenance materials are delivered.
