‘Unity in the Community,’ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Back to School Festival

WHEN: Saturday, August 10th 2024; 11:00am – 3:00pm

WHERE: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Community Center and Park, 1531 W. Vliet Street, Milwaukee, WI 53205

WHAT: King Advisory Inc. presents the Twenty-Ninth Annual “Unity in the Community,” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Back to School Festival for youth and families to assist in preparation for the upcoming school year.

King Advisory Inc. is still accepting businesses, community resource organizations, and vendors for booths for a small fee of $75. All pre-registered volunteers will receive a T-shirt.

Lastly, we are still accepting partners and donors. With 2,000 book bags filled with school supplies, free food, games, youth talent showcases, music, dancing, bounce houses and relay races, it promises to be a fun and helpful event for the community. We ask everyone to come out and join the fun.

Nori Carter, President of King Advisory Inc.’s Board of Directors, shared, “There will be a family center fun-filled day with book bags filled with school supplies, free food, games, youth talent showcases, music, dancing, and relay races that will provide our children a great start for school.”

“It’s great to see the support from long-time sponsors like the Forest County Potawatomi Foundation and the Chris Abele Foundation. Their contributions are significant in making this event possible and successful and providing awesome school supplies that are very expensive for families today,” said Vice-President Devona Marcia Coggs-Jones.
