Brewers Re-Sign Right-handed Pitcher Brandon Woodruff
Two-Time All-Star Signs Two-Year Contract with Mutual Option for 2026
PHOENIX – The Milwaukee Brewers have signed right-handed pitcher Brandon Woodruff to a two-year contract with a mutual option for 2026. To make room on the 40-man roster, the team designated infielder Jahmai Jones for assignment. The announcement was made by Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Arnold.
Woodruff, who turned 31 on Feb. 10, was limited to 11 starts last season as he was on the injured list from April 11 through Aug. 5 with right shoulder inflammation. On Oct. 13, he had surgery to repair the anterior capsule in that shoulder, performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, TX. He is expected to miss most, if not all, of this season.
The two-time All-Star (2019 and 2021) owns a career record 46-26 with a 3.10 ERA and 1 save in 130 games (115 starts) during seven seasons in the Major Leagues, all with the Brewers. Woodruff is the all-time franchise leader in ERA (min. 500.0 IP), WHIP (1.05 – min. 500.0 IP) and winning percentage (.639 – min. 50 decisions). His 788 career strikeouts rank seventh in franchise history.
Woodruff was selected by Milwaukee in the 11th round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of Mississippi State University.
