Jefferson Stepping Down from RPW Executive Director Post
MADISON, Wis. – After five years as Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, Mark Jefferson will be departing the RPW in early March. He previously served the Party in the same position from 2007 to 2011 and has served with five different state party chairs.
“It has been an honor working with a tireless team of elected leaders and grassroots activists in Wisconsin for so many years. The timing seemed right for a new challenge, and the Party is lucky to have many talented leaders ready to step into key roles,” Jefferson said. An announcement regarding his future plans will be announced in the coming days.Chairman Brian Schimming has already started the hiring process and said he expects to name a replacement in the next month.
“This year, the RPW will be laser-focused on winning Wisconsin for the presidential nominee, defeating Tammy Baldwin, and preserving our majorities in the legislature and congressional delegation,” said Chairman Schimming. “We are grateful to Mark’s many years of service on behalf of the RPW and our candidates around the state over these many years. We will continue the process of assembling an aggressive team to fill key roles and ensure the Party is ready to take advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead.”
A long-time GOP operative, Jefferson has also served as a Regional Political Director at the Republican National Committee and Director of the Wisconsin Republican Assembly Campaign Committee, among other roles.
