MTEA Announces Endorsement of Evan Goyke for City Attorney
Today, the Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association (MTEA) announced its endorsement of State Representative Evan Goyke in the race for City Attorney.
MTEA President Amy Mizialko issued the following statement:
“Evan Goyke has been a friend of public education every step of the way since he was elected to the legislature. He is an active, thoughtful and respected legislator who has embraced both the role of lawmaking and the duty to serve his constituents here in Milwaukee.
“In his campaign for City Attorney, Evan has shown he has a clear understanding about the role and responsibility of the City Attorney as the primary attorney for MPS. He has spoken passionately about his goals of holding bad actors, like slumlords, accountable. In an endorsement interview, Evan expressed his full support for the MPS referendum and the great public schools our students deserve.
“MTEA is ready to get to work to educate voters as we enter a crucial election cycle for the students, workers and families of Milwaukee Public Schools, and we are proud to support Evan Goyke in his race for City Attorney.”
