Milwaukee County to Host Climate Planning Webinar
Residents can help shape the County's plan to achieve carbon neutrality.
MILWAUKEE, WI – Milwaukee County residents are invited to participate in a one-hour online meeting about the County’s Climate Action 2050 Plan. During the webinar, residents will have an opportunity to advise what the County should do to address climate change.
“This webinar will inform residents about Milwaukee County’s commitment to taking bold action on climate change,” said County Executive David Crowley. “We need residents’ help identifying ways to reduce our carbon emissions while improving community health and equity.”
“The Office of Sustainability wants the Climate Action 2050 Plan to reflect county residents’ diverse needs and concerns,” said Sustainability Director Gordie Bennett. “Please attend this webinar to help us plan for a more sustainable and resilient Milwaukee County.”The webinar will take place via Zoom on September 28, 2023, from 5:30-6:30 pm. During 2021, Milwaukee County adopted a policy to achieve carbon neutrality, or zero net carbon emissions, in county operations by 2050. The Climate Action 2050 Plan will provide a roadmap for achieving this goal.
