By - Jul 11th, 2023 01:43 pm

On Thursday, July 13 Alderwoman Larresa Taylor will host a town hall meeting regarding the proposed Cudahy Farms housing development in the 9th Aldermanic District. The town hall will take place at 9050 N. Swan Rd. from 5:30 – 7 p.m., and include representatives from the Department of Public Works, Department of Neighborhood Services, City Plan Commission, and Royal Capital.

Proposed at the former YMCA location, the overall layout of the development encourages healthy living habits and community building for all walks of life. The first phase of development calls for 377 apartments within 15 two-story buildings that include 153 units for seniors who can live independently, and 224 two-and three-bedroom family units. The City Plan Commission is slated to take up the proposal at its meeting on Monday, July 17.

“In addition to the new housing units, this proposed development has the chance to be an economic driver and a community-centric gathering place for the northwest side of the city,” said Alderwoman Taylor. “The town hall meeting we are hosing Thursday is an excellent chance for area residents to come learn more and ask questions, and I would encourage those interested to join us for a thoughtful and informative discussion.”
