Congresswoman Gwen Moore Statement on Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA Mifepristone Ruling
Today, Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk suspended the FDA’s approval of the abortion medication, mifepristone. The decision will be on hold for seven days, allowing the Biden administration to appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. In response, Congresswoman Moore released the following statement:
“Right now, I am carefully reviewing this decision and its implications. While the details are still unraveling, what I do know now is mifepristone has been a safe and effective abortion medication for more than two decades.
I will continue being a fierce champion for reproductive health care for women. I firmly believe every person should control their own destiny, including their own health care decisions. Every ruling makes it even more urgent for Congress to pass legislation that enshrines reproductive rights in law.”
