Third Episode of Brewers “The Freshmen” Docuseries Airs, Finalizing Experience at Spring Training
Episode Offers Personal Insight on Prospects’ Baseball Journey; Concludes with an Emotional and Memorable Moment
MILWAUKEE – This month, the Milwaukee Brewers successfully launched “The Freshmen,” a multi-episode docuseries that was met with great excitement from fans. The series gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at life as a prospect and the journey toward earning a Major League spot, told through each player’s individual story. The series follows top talent Jackson Chourio, Sal Frelick, Garrett Mitchell, Brice Turang and Joey Wiemer
Today, the third episode was released – the last of the trio of episodes filmed during 2023 Spring Training. The episode finds the players working hard at Spring Training and sharing their intimate thoughts and feelings about their journey in baseball and how much it would mean to them to secure a Big League spot. The episode concludes with an emotional and memorable conversation for Turang.

The first installment of the series introduced each of the featured Minor Leaguers making an impact in the Milwaukee Brewers farm system. Chourio was the Brewers top international signee in the class of 2020-21. The others are Draft picks; Turang in the (first round) in 2018 out of high school, Mitchell (first round) and Wiemer (fourth round) in 2020 out of college and Frelick (first round) in 2021, also out of college.
