Friends of the Domes to Host Art in the Green Art Festival at Mitchell Park Domes

Milwaukee, Wis., March 3, 2023 – The Friends of the Domes’ popular Art in the Green art festival returns for the first time since COVID on Saturday, April 29, 2023, and Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CDT.

Art in the Green is a two-day, indoor art festival in a one-of-a-kind venue, the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (The Domes). Artwork from more than 30 local and regional artists will be on display and for sale in the greenhouse adjacent to The Domes. Artwork includes jewelry, ceramics, wood, painting, and more.

“We are thrilled to host an art festival in what is arguably Milwaukee’s most unique and treasured piece of artwork: The Domes,” said Christa Beall Diefenbach, executive director, Friends of the Domes. “This unique event is a celebration of artistic expression and creativity.”

In addition to live music throughout The Domes, local food and drink vendors will be on-site. Admission includes the art festival, access to The Domes, and parking. The event is free to Friends of the Domes members; $9 for general admission. All proceeds benefit educational programming and school field trips that take place at The Domes.

About Friends of the Domes: The Friends mission is to promote and support the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (The Domes) and surrounding park by creating and enhancing the visitor experience of this globally significant urban destination. Friends of the Domes provides educational and membership programming, retail services, funds for facility enhancements, and volunteer recruitment and management in support of the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory, and has done so since the 1980s. Revenues to support this mission come from fundraising, membership dues, and retail sales. All Friends programming works to enhance the visitor experience, helping the community cultivate a lifelong love of nature.
