Located at the corner of E. Pittsburgh St. and S. Water St. the South Water Works development is in the process of converting the former Transpak buildings into a mixture of retail, residential, and office space.
The project has been moving along, despite the economic slowdown, with one building’s demolishing complete, dealings with the City of Milwaukee regarding street improvements complete, and visible progress on the existing buildings.
Lighthouse Developmet also recently announced that
Fullhouse Media will be the South Water Works’ first tenant. Today
Lighthouse Development began their online marketing with the launch of their website
http://www.southwaterworks.com/ and the release of additional renderings.
We’ve re-posted them here to make them more widely available.
Renderings
It’s hard to tell from the renderings, but I really hope they honor the art deco influences of this building. It will be a nice anchor to an otherwise “vacant” part of the city.
Looks amazing, when is it being built?
@MC From what I’ve seen, they appears to be saving much of the existing buildings… And doing it well. I’d say though the area isn’t exactly vacant. It still has a ways to go but that will be the next neighborhood.
@HF It is under construction right now.
PS I changed your name to HF Milwaukee because it looked a little bit strange
Looks a bit sterile with those tinted windows… I’d like to see something more inviting!
