Youth-Ran Pitch Competition Returns to Annual My City My Biz Expo at Bayshore Shopping Center, Oct. 15

Future Entrepreneurs Moving Ahead will host pitch competition

Milwaukee (October 10, 2022) – Future Entrepreneurs Moving Ahead (F.E.M.A), an organization designed to develop entrepreneurship skills in youth from 8 -17 years old, will host a youth pitch competition at the My City My Biz Small Business Expo on October 15, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. CST to 12:30 p.m. CST at The Collective Marketplace located in Bayshore Shopping Center, 5700 N. Bayshore Dr, Glendale, WI 53217. My City My Biz is a yearly gathering of adult entrepreneurs founded by Dr. Shontina Gladney, where F.E.MA Founder Laneice McGee has showcased youth entrepreneurs at the expo for five years.

The pitch competition is youth-ran and will feature two youth M.C.’s, a former student of F.E.M.A will act as a Keynote speaker, along with a mini fashion show by Azania’s Children’s Boutique; the owner is only four years old. The competition will open with a dance routine by youth dance team Xtreme Destruction Dance Force.

“I am honored to create a platform for youth to take risks, to discover themselves, and to find ways to connect to something that challenges them,” said McGee. “I listen to the youth as they share their plans and I see endless dreams. This program creates structure and guidance to help them to create what they desire.”

A cash prize will be awarded to the youth winner.

The F.E.M.A. pitch competition will feature five youth entrepreneurs:

Along with the youth pitch competition, guests are encouraged to attend the full expo from 11:00 p.m. CST to 4:00 p.m. CST. The expo and pitch competition took a two-year hiatus due to COVID. The pitch competition and expo are free and open to the public.
