Colectivo Coffee & University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Partner Together for New Coffee

Milwaukee, WI- Colectivo Coffee and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, two of Milwaukee’s hometown favorites, are excited to share their new collaboration: UW-Milwaukee Panther Blend Coffee. The coffee proudly features an artistic illustration of Pounce the Panther and aims to unite Panther fans and coffee enthusiasts everywhere.

“We are thrilled for the launch of the Panther Blend. Finding new and unique ways to connect UWM with our community is a priority, and partnering with Colectivo on a coffee roasted just down the road from our east side campus is a perfect match,” said Kevin O’Connor, Licensing and Product Development Manager for UW-Milwaukee. “Our students, faculty, staff, alumni and every member of our extended Panther family can have an extra dose of Panther Pride each time they enjoy a cup of Panther Blend.”

The relationship runs deeper than the new coffee for these Eastside Milwaukee businesses. Colectivo has sponsored UWM athletics for over a decade, and UWM Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies has been an ongoing partner in Colectivo’s summer music series at its Lakefront cafe, Musica del Lago. Colectivo’s roastery & office is located in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood just blocks from the main campus. UWM students and faculty frequent the multiple Colectivo cafes located near the campus, which also employ UWM students and alumni. And Colectivo Senior Graphic Artist, Kevin Callahan, UWM alum ‘85 illustrated the artwork on the coffee bag.

“We’ve loved working with UW-Milwaukee on this exciting collaboration,” said Megan Suardini, Vice President of Branding, Marketing and E-Commerce for Colectivo Coffee. “It’s been particularly fun for my Marketing & Design team as they are all proud UWM alumni excited to work on a project that gives a nod to their college years.”

The coffee has notes of plum, dark chocolate and concord grape with a medium body and is Fair Trade Organic Certified. It will be available in whole bean 12 oz. bags at all Milwaukee area Colectivo locations, plus online for shipping across the US. $1 of each bag will be donated back to UWM for student scholarships.

The blend is one of the three new college coffees Colectivo is launching this fall. Along with UW-Milwaukee Panthers Blend, customers can find a Northwestern Wildcat Blend & a Wisconsin Badgers Blend– a college coffee for each of the three geographic markets Colectivo has physical cafe locations (Chicago area, Milwaukee area & Madison).
