Suspect Criminally Charged in Connection to Shots Fired at Officers
MILWAUKEE, WI – On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office issued criminal charges against Donnie D. Williams in connection to firing shots at MPD officers that occurred on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at approximately 8:25 p.m., on the 2800 block of N. 23rd Street.
Williams was charged with one count of Attempt First Degree Intentional Homicide, Mandatory Minimum – Repeat Firearm Crimes, Habitual Criminality Repeater, Use of a Dangerous Weapon and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Repeater – Serious Violent Crime, Habitual Criminality Repeater. If convicted, he could face up to 87 years in prison and could be fined up to $25,000.
The Milwaukee Police Department is thankful that none of our officers were struck by the suspect’s gunfire.
