Rep’s Titanic Will Return This Fall
Show canceled, some 10,000 tickets refunded, after many in the large cast caught COVID-19.

A COVID-19 breakout in the large cast forced the Milwaukee Repertory Theater to cancel 15 performances this spring of its Titanic the Musical, which drew raves from Urban Milwaukee as artistic director Mark Clements‘ best musical production ever. Despite extensive precautions, COVID still leveled enough members of the large cast to force the mid-run shutdown, causing a loss of revenue from nearly 10,000 tickets, which will be refunded.
But now the show is returning next season for five weeks, Sept. 20 to Oct. 23 including previews, replacing the originally announced Ragtime as lead-off musical in the Quadracci Playhouse mainstage season. Individual tickets will go on sale this summer.
Ragtime, previously staged by the Rep in 2013, is now advertised as delayed until a future season.
