Senator Baldwin Supports President Biden Taking Action to Allow More E15 Fuel Sales, Drive Down Costs for Americans
Baldwin joined a bipartisan group in March urging Biden to boost Made in America biofuel, reduce reliance on foreign sources of energy, and lower costs for people
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last month, Senator Baldwin joined a bipartisan effort urging President Joe Biden to expand the sale of E15 fuel, and today, the President is announcing in Iowa that he is lifting restrictions on the sale of E15 biofuel sales this summer.
“We want to sincerely thank Senator Baldwin for her determined efforts to ensure American drivers have year-round access to E15—the lowest-cost, lowest-carbon fuel available at the pump today,” said Renewable Fuels Association President & CEO Geoff Cooper. “Her tireless advocacy was instrumental in securing the important actions announced today by President Biden. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the senator, President Biden, and other leaders throughout Congress and the administration, drivers in Wisconsin and across the country will benefit from the lower prices and cleaner air provided by higher ethanol blend like E15.”
In March, Senator Baldwin joined a bipartisan effort, led by Senators John Thune (R-SD) and Dick Durbin (D-IL), in urging President Biden to permit the year-round sale of E15 fuel in order to boost Made in America biofuels and reduce the United States’ reliance on foreign sources of energy. In addition, Senator Baldwin also joined bipartisan legislation, The Home Front Energy Independence Act, which would replace Russian oil with American-made renewable fuels that are available right now.
