MPD Arrests Suspect Criminally Charged for Shooting MPD Detective
MILWAUKEE, WI – Today, March 15, 2022, MPD officers received credible information that Keasean Ellis-Brown was inside a residence on the 2900 block of N. 9th Street. Ellis-Brown was criminally charged for shooting MPD Detective Wilkiewicz on January 13, 2022, on the 200 block of E. Buffalo Street.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., officers responded to the address; however, Ellis-Brown refused to come out. A tactical setup was established, which warranted the response of the Tactical Enforcement Unit and Crisis Negotiators.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., Ellis-Brown surrendered and was arrested without further incident.
The Milwaukee Police Department is thankful for the peaceful resolution of this incident. We appreciate the support from the community that provided information that ultimately led to Ellis-Brown’s arrest. We are proud of all the men and women of the Milwaukee Police Department that showed great restraint and professionalism during this incident.
The Milwaukee Police Department continues to wish Detective Wilkiewicz a full and speedy recovery from the gunshot injuries he sustained during his heroic actions.
