MILWAUKEE, WI (Oct. 25, 2021) — Today 3rd Street Market Hall announced that the Milwaukee Brewers left fielder and 2018 NL MVP Christian Yelich and returning Green Bay Packers star wide receiver Randall Cobb are investing in the food hall slated to open this year inside The Avenue in the heart of downtown Milwaukee.

“This project is yet another example of Milwaukee’s innovative spirit, so I didn’t think twice about supporting it,” says Yelich. “3rd Street Market Hall will drive significant foot traffic and interest in the downtown area year-round, and it reflects the dynamic atmosphere of this city. I couldn’t be more proud to help bring this development to fruition.”

3rd St. Market Hall will open with vendors like Dairlyand, Greenhouse, Brew City Brand, Mid-Way Bakery, Amano Pan, Make Waves, Hot Dish Pantry, Middle East Side, Strega, a selfie museum, Topgolf Swing Suites, a gaming lounge, and more. Additional vendors, like Anytime Arepa, Supernova, and more continue to build out stations, and a more robust Grand Opening event will take place early next year.

“It feels great to be back home in Green Bay playing for the Packers. Wisconsin truly holds a special place in my heart, and now I am lucky enough to be able to invest in the community that has always supported me” says Cobb. “I feel that 3rd St. Market Hall, a place where community and culinary meet in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, represents the core values that made me love Wisconsin.”

Chief Executive Officer of Hempel Companies and co-founder of 3rd Street Market Hall Josh Krsnak agrees and sees the forthcoming food hall as a catalytic project for the city. “3rd Street Market Hall will continue the evolution of Wisconsin Avenue and offer an experience unlike any other,” Krsnak says. “I’m elated by Christian and Randall’s support of our vision.”

In addition to food and entertainment, 3rd Street Market Hall will offer unique private event spaces ideal for holiday parties, weddings, and corporate events. This event space, which is still under construction and is expected to be completed in 2022, will offer unparalleled dining experiences in partnership with food hall vendors in a contemporary luxe environment unlike anything else in the area. The food hall will also feature a massive, full-service bar sure to become a downtown favorite for employees, residents, and visitors alike.

“Being able to partner with Christian and Randall demonstrates the collaborative environment we strive for at 3rd Street Market Hall” said Omar Shaikh, founding partner and longtime restauranteur. “This redevelopment is a passion project for many, and to have their deep support and enthusiasm is truly an honor for both this project and the city of Milwaukee.”

Yelich and Cobb are joined by dozens of other local investors who are similarly passionate about Milwaukee. Interviews with 3rd Street Market Hall management are available upon request and more details on the food hall’s vendors will be announced as they become available.
