Statement from Darrin Madison – Milwaukee County Board, District 10 Candidate
MILWAUKEE, WI – “I am deeply grateful and inspired by the friends, family, organizations, and residents who supported me and fought alongside me in this election. This journey has been filled with hard-fought days, but as for right now, it slows down here.
I congratulate Priscilla Coggs-Jones on her victory. She promised monumental change, which our community deserves, and has raised expectations around common concerns such as the increasing cost of property taxes. My passion for County government and services means that I will continue to work for needed change in the key areas I addressed in my platform. I will continue to communicate about those needed changes and hold our leaders accountable for that. I will also continue working with and making myself available to residents throughout our community to support them in navigating issues they are facing.
My vision for the 10th district and for Milwaukee County has been – and continues to be – far bigger than a single campaign: it is a movement to build equity through quality of life services. The final vote total – with only twelve votes separating us – is evidence that our message, steeped in both idealism and policy, resonated with many in the community. That movement continues, and I am proud to continue to lead the charge for it.
