Central Standard Sponsors Spring Forward

Through a tongue-in-cheek campaign, Central Standard Craft Distillery Cofounders Evan Hughes and Pat McQuillan want to spread a little good cheer as we all prepare to change our clocks this weekend.

“With our name and Midwest roots, we’ve always wanted to do something around the time change to celebrate longer days and rising temperatures,” McQuillan explained. “With everything going on in our world, there’s no better time to start then today.”

To help us all spring forward, Hughes and McQuillan are offering $2 discounts on bottles of their new Red Cabin bourbon* or a free jar of the distillery’s spirited cherries (if folks buy a bottle of Red Cabin or Central Standard’s North Brandy) at participating retailers now through the first day of Spring (March 20). They’re also buying free rounds of drinks at local bars and restaurants today through Sunday’s time change.

“This winter, heck this entire year, has felt incredibly long,” Hughes said. “We’ve all experienced a bit of cabin fever and could use a good dose of hope and normalcy right about now, So Pat and I decided to offer a deal on Red Cabin and buy rounds of free drinks this weekend.”

Not-So-Official, Official Sponsorship Deal

Hughes and McQuillan have wanted to sponsor the spring-forward time change for years but could never identify a governing body or sponsoring organization. “After the last 12 months we’ve all had, we decided to just name ourselves the official sponsor,” Hughes said with a smile. “But if someone knows where we should send the check, please email us.”

To find out where Hughes, McQuillan and Jim Kanter, Central Standard’s Chief Commercial Officer, are buying rounds of drinks this weekend, log onto the distillery’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds.

A Full Line of Midwest Favorites Perfect for Spring, Summer & Beyond
Red Cabin, which won a Gold Medal at the prestigious Los Angeles International Wine and Spirits competition, delivers a complex-yet-approachable taste thanks to its red-wine-barrel-finishing. The new bourbon joins Central Standard’s portfolio of handcrafted premium spirits, including Door County Cherry Vodka and North Brandy. “When you think of our lineup – Door County Cherry Vodka, North Brandy and now Red Cabin: They’re all perfectly handcrafted for enjoying here in the Midwest or wherever your travels take you this spring and summer,” McQuillan concluded.
