Supervisor Martin Statement on Insurrectionists Storming the U.S. Capitol
MILWAUKEE – On Wednesday, a mob incited by President Trump’s false claims of widespread voter fraud stormed the U.S. Capitol during Congress’s certification of the 2020 Presidential election. The ensuing chaos resulted in the death of five people, numerous injuries and massive property damage.
Supervisor Felesia A. Martin released the following statement in response:
“I am calling for the removal of Donald J. Trump from the office of President of the United States either by the 25th Amendment or impeachment. Mr. Trump has proven time and time again that he is unfit to serve as our Commander-in-Chief. I am also calling for the removal or censure of every member of Congress who objected to the certification of the 2020 Presidential Election. What took place on Wednesday, January 5 was an act of sedition by those members of Congress. The security of our nation is at stake. We are not safe if President Trump and his minions remain in office. Trump must be removed – NOW.”
