46th Annual National Black Law Students Association Convention at the Hilton 3/12-16

More than 500 law students from across the country are convening at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center from March 12–16 for the 46th Annual National Black Law Students Association Convention. Each year, NBLSA members engage in targeted programming of advocacy, networking, candid discussion, and service opportunities with fellow members at the National Convention.

Local sponsors of the convention include Perkins Coie, LLP, Foley & Lardner, LLP, Walmart Navy JAG, Army JAG, and Marine JAG. Talented law students will compete in the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition, the Frederick Douglas Moot Court Competition, and the Nelson Mandela International Negotiations Competition. The Community Service Project will take place on Thursday, March 13 at the Milwaukee Justice Center from 8:30am until 11:30am with a luncheon to follow. The luncheon, sponsored by Marquette University, will feature keynote speaker Judge Derek Mosley.

Thursday evening will feature a Welcome to Milwaukee Reception and Charity Silent Auction hosted by the Wisconsin Association of African American Lawyers from 6pm – 8pm at the Potawatomi Casino. The Sadie T.M. Alexander luncheon will honor the Honorable Vel Phillips on Saturday, March 15.
