Milwaukee, Wis. – February 19, 2020 – On Sunday, March 8, kids and families visiting the Milwaukee Art Museum can explore many different Modern art movements at Kohl’s Art Generation Family Sundays: Make It Modern.

From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., visitors can draw inspiration from the works of Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Edgar Degas, Berthe Morisot, Pablo Picasso and other towering figures of European modernism featured in the exhibition A Modern Vision: European Masterworks from The Phillips Collection. Families can tour the exhibition with the free, accompanying Family Guide, and then step up to an easel under the wings of the Calatrava to create their own drawings and paintings.

Hundreds of works of art made by students from Carollton Elementary and Edgewood Elementary will be on display in the Kohl’s Art Generation Studio.

Families will also have the opportunity to enjoy dance performances by Brookfield Center for the Arts at 11 a.m., a symphony performed by the WI Conservatory of Music at 1 p.m. and songs sung by the Milwaukee Children’s Choir at 2:30 p.m.

Five times each year, the Kohl’s Art Generation Studio takes over the Milwaukee Art Museum with hands-on art activities, performances and more.

The cost to attend Kohl’s Art Generation Family Sundays: Make It Modern is included in Museum admission. Thanks to Kohl’s, Museum attendance is always free for kids ages 12 and under.
